As with many commercial properties in Gqeberha now, the municipal fire water supply to the mall has become entirely unreliable. This means that the sprinkler system for the whole mall was compromised.  

We were contracted to supply a set of tanks and pumps to feed the sprinkler system without reliance on a municipal feed. Including all the associated pipework. 

Tank Spec: 325,000 litres each ; 650,000 litres combined capacity. 

Pump Spec: 2 Diesel powered pumps delivering 7,100 litres/min at @ 6.8bar 

The scope also included getting the pumped water to the various valves on the property – without disturbing the flow of traffic around the mall. This was done by using a sub-surface drilling rig to run several hundred meters of pipework below the parking areas. We then constructed several manholes to tie the new pipework into the existing lines at several points.
