This 21,000m2 warehouse and offices was taken over by a new tenant who intends to store and distribute lucerne from there. The entire structure thus required a sprinkler system. 

We were contracted to re-draw the structure and design a sprinkler system to deliver 22mm/min of coverage to the stored goods, as well as appropriate protection to the offices and other rooms. In many areas we had to work inside existing ceiling – and getting pipes into these spaces was agood challenge. 

To get this kind of substantial sprinkler coverage we had to use very heavy pipework, which was a challenge because the roof is 23m high! 

We also installed the necessary control valve stations as well as 80m of underground pipework to connect the system to the CDC pumped water supply. 

Also included in our scope was a fire detection system. For this we used a combination of smoke detectors and air sampling units connected to a central monitoring hub.
